Dark Phases

dark phases of womanhood
of never havin been a girl
half-notes scattered
without rhythm/ no tune
distraught laughter fallin
over a black girl's shoulder
it's funny/ it's hysterical
the melody-less-ness of her dance

Hey everyone! I know it's been a long time since I have last posted or updated anything but I have a few links to share with anyone out there.

long post

Walking through this gigantic NTC promenade, park and shopping center towards High Tech High and The Rock Church, I notice that the atmosphere is quiet and polite yet even as the sky is overcast it's bright out.  As I walk people are very friendly as are children, very courteous. It is a one-stop shopping place.  The grass is cut neat and quaint.
I enter the church, I'm wearing jeans, a jacket and cozy boots. I'm supposed to be here for the health fair, volunteering. On my chest, not a cross but a shield of David.  In a room with thousands of people I have never felt so alone.  Everyone that stopped along the way were respectful first. courteous second and trying to convert me latly.  Judged before they even knew me.  The Rock church is a christian church that began in an auditorium at SDSU in 2000 but has grown the near thousands ever walk of life.  The church building has 2 campuses, holds 8 weekend services, and 2 school.  I have never been to the Rock Church but everyone was raving that is was so amazing.  And that website says they believe in the Bible, Jesus and such,  I didn't attend any services because I am true to my own faith but just walking into the rather large building that houses a giant cafe and bookstore I did not feel at home; I will for sure never be coming back.
When I left I appreciated my own reformed Jewish faith, I accept the Torah as the foundation of my life and inclusion not exclusion of everyone no matter what race, color, or gender they are and of every walk of life.  I love my temple.
In other news, yesterday I wrote to my friend thats in Army basic training I understand why he needed to go but, I still miss him very much and I pray for him everyday and every night.  I can't wait for him to come home.  after I wrote to him, I had to write to another one of my friends who is leaving Monday (two mondays ago) for Navy basic training.  In the midst of all this I have begun enveloping or my work at home business, I have the mailing list, envelopes, and flyers/order forms and stamps.  I was going to mail 100 at a time but that seems like too much.  So I just choose 25 at first.
My day was so exhausting I couldn't wait to snuggle into my nice warm program I got from bedheads pj.  Usually I just go to victoria secret and buy my pajamas.  But since my brother loved the pair I got him for hanukkah, last year, I slept like a baby. Looking at their site I loved the fact that they are made in the USA.  Currently bedheads are having some sort of sale bedhead pajamas.so check it out

fathers day

On mother's day, mom gets breakfast in bed, day to herself, a card, maybe even doesn't have to cook dinner, and gifts. father's day, dad gets a shirt/tie card, some type of power tool or electric razor, maybe a day with his buddies or a day to himself. Call me crazy but does anyone see a fault in this process?

Long time, a lot of updates

OK everyone, i know it's been a few days since my last meaningful post and I apologize wholeheartedly for my  blatant neglect but last friday I graduated community college with my associates degree in social work so now I can make my next move to San Diego State university to get my bachelors degree in social work, which eventually will get me a better job.  It will be a long expensive trip but I am down for the long haul, flying solo all the way, keeping my head down and eyes straight to keep my goal in sight.
Now on to Monday, memorial day, it was a beautiful day to honor our fallen soldiers from all over the United States from every era of war.  The day also commemorates soldiers that are still with us as well. I don't know how most people celebrate it but, in my house, we attend the memorial services with family and friends at the veteran cematery, then we usually have a BBQ at the beach and catch up with one another.  At the end of the day, any leftovers we have acquired during the day are given to the homeless veterans that are usually lingering around.  It's usually a great day and way to celebrate it.  Unfortunately, advertising and corporate America have turned it into another reason to get out of work and school for a day, BBQ and get drunk off their butts and some even have the audacity to drink and drive.  Just like the fourth of July, Veteran's day and all other holidays.  If there can be a party there will be alcohol simple as that.  I think it's important that we not forget what the holiday is all about and what it really stands for. I'm not sure how we can get back to that or where it even went,or even how we lost it.

My next topic is money, in a time like this, who doesn't need money right? So there is this site called InboxDollars. To think all this could have been avoided if you had ordered your ink online, or didn't procrastinate till the night before it's due to want to print it. Bet you'll think twice before you do that again, right?

SO FRESH SO CLEAN SO COOL

I don't have a smelly pit issue but everyone knows someone who does and aren't they usually the ones that are into the whole pesticide-free all-organic mother nature types.  Well last night while l was getting ready for work, I used this deodorant that I purchased some time ago from a company called Nourish Organic....


Since I hadn't used it yet, I was skeptical that it wouldn't work or that I'd have this horrible B.O. afterwards as I am pretty self conscious about odors in general.  But, I decided to give it a try, it reminded me of Dove deodorant because of the all-day freshness and is great to use even on gentle skin and very nourishing (that's why I also put some on the bottom of my feet).  IF THIS WERE A COMMERCIAL AND MY PITS COULD TALK THEY'D BE TELLING YOU HOW SMOOTH, FRESH AND FREE THEY ARE.  How happy that I choose to smother them with something organic that doesn't harm me or the environment.
Nourish Organic deodorant comes in several fragrances and is very good smellings.  I almost couldn't wait to sweat at work to be honest, but the deodorizing cornstarch and vegetable protein took care of it.  The deodorant also has shea and cocoa butters, beeswax and coconut oil.  It worked so well that I am going to toss my other deodorant for good. I haven't tried all the fragrances but, I adore the lavender mint fragrance.

Now onto some more serious topic..........
What is with all these "commission traps" on the internet and people are falling for them every single day. I've tried a few and none of them ever really work but I did stupidly dish out a ridiculous amount of money every time. 
I got several in my email this morning and decided to click on one of them, it came with a video that was long, drawn out, and beat around the bush a lot.  They claimed there was a "3 step strategy" it was "turnkey" earn "big bucks in just a day", then you watch the video get all excited about it, sign up for the software and then find out that it's not actually free and you have to pay for it.  You usually contemplate buying it and then you do only to find out that there is no software to download and that you have just been JIPPED for money or they'll sucker you into paying more by buying into another site like clickbank and you never earn a dime, 

And people fall for it everyday unfortunately.

I don't actually matter

there are 7 billion 47 million people on this planet and not all of them have jobs, food, shelter but all of them can reproduce. why should that be fair? why does any government allow that to happen. The United States outsources jobs to first and second world countries to make cheap profit off of them costing millions of people jobs here for people. and so many of them can't get jobs or any kind of resources to support their families, because the government is too busy catering to immigrants and undocumented people to care about the people that already live here.
